MAWAKILI MTAJIFICHA WAPI?

Do We All See the Man Holding an iPhone in This 1937 Painting? By motherboard.vice.com Wait for it. Lower right quadrant. Seated. Holding a small, black, rectangular object at about eye level. See him? It's not clear exactly who this man is, but he might as well be popping off a selfie or thumbing through his news feed. He seems to gaze into the handheld device in such a way that renders all-too-familiar today, as if he's just read a bad tweet or recoiling from a Trump-related push notification from the Times . He would almost look unremarkable, if only he and the world around him existed at any point in the past decade. But the multi-part, New Deal-era mural the man occupies, titled "Mr. Pynchon and the Settling of Springfield," pre-dates the iPhone by seven decades. Completed in 1937 by the late Italian semi-abstract painter Umberto Romano, "Settling" is loosely based on actual events that occurred around a pre-Revolutionary War encounter between mem...

Ndege Kubwa zaidi duniani yenye uwezo wa kutumia injini 6 kwa pamoja

World's Largest Plane Fires Up Its Six Engines For The First Time designyoutrust.com The world’s biggest plane is a step closer to its first flight. Named Stratolaunch, the colossal aircraft successfully fired all six of its Pratt and Whitney turbofan engines – each weighing 8,940lbs (4,000kg) – for the first time this week. The plane is the vision of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen who wants it to act as a giant air pad in the sky, allowing payloads to reach space faster and at a lower cost than existing technologies. The aircraft is so huge if it sat in the centre of a football field, it would be wide enough for its wings to reach 12.5 feet (3.8 metres) beyond each goalpost. Instead of a satellite, the Stratolaunch airplane could launch a Dream Chaser spaceship. This could act as a mini-shuttle to reach low Earth orbit destinations and return astronauts or payloads to a runway within 24 hours. Test flights were expected for 2016 and 2017, but project delays have pushed bac...

Astronomers observe an object in space unlike anything they’ve seen before Astronomers  recently observed a type of object in  space  unlike anything we’ve come across before. 288P is a binary  asteroid  – or two asteroids orbiting one other – that has features similar to a  comet , like a long tail and bright coma, or cloud of dust and gas surrounding a comet’s nucleus. It is the first binary asteroid we’ve ever found that can also be classified as a comet. Scientists learned of 288P’s existence in 2011, but they weren’t able to really scrutinize the binary asteroid – it was too far away – until recently when it came a little closer to Earth. Using the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope , a group of scientists led by Jessica Agarwal at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research  in Germany were able to get a better look at the strange system. 288P is a main-belt comet as it’...

Man who claimed world will end Saturday reverses course, shares new take Written by whdh.com (WHDH) — A man who claimed a mysterious planet would appear in the sky on Saturday and bring the world to an end has changed his mind. Author and Christian numerologist David Meade originally said Nibiru, a planet 10 times the size of earth, would cause global death and destruction with its unfathomable gravitational forces on Sept. 23. Meade has since changed his thoughts on the matter, saying the event won’t mark the end of days, but instead the beginning of series of events over several weeks that will spell doom. “The world is not ending, but the world as we know it is ending. A major part of the world will not be the same at the beginning of October,”  Meade told the Washington Post . NASA scientists say Nibiru is a nothing more than a hoax. “If Nibiru or Planet X were real and headed for an encounter with the Earth … astronomers would have b...
